Fishing & Recreation on Pewaukee Lake

Generally speaking, fishing in Pewaukee Lake is the best in the spring and fall seasons when there isn't quite as much boat traffic swirling around. The western basin of Pewaukee Lake is known for its Walleye, musky, and smallmouth and largemouth bass, and the state even recognized Pewaukee Lake as having the finest musky fishery in Southern Wisconsin. In addition to fishing, Pewaukee Lake also has one of the best public beaches of any lake in Lake Country, WI, which is open every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. At the end of the summer though, the beach does not have lifeguards on duty, which generally starts around mid-August. It is worth noting that the beach at Pewaukee Lake will remain open though Labor Day weekend, so swim at your own risk.
